October Trailer: Daughters of Sol

Hello Adventurers and Collectors!

The moment you have been waiting for is finally here: the trailer for our next release is live!
Turn on the sound and press play on the video above.

The Requiem Order has returned, this time with an all female chapter called the Daughters of Sol.
Perfect as clerics, paladins and fighters for RPGs, or as an army of battle nuns for skirmish games and wargames, these modular warriors will be available on October 2 or 3.

After the previous Requiem set, which featured very bulky and powerful warriors, or the agile Demon Hunters, I wanted to sculpt more realistic characters protected by plausible armor. The Daughters of Sol retain their dignified bearing, clad in plate armor and adorned with veils and tabards. They wield a wide variety of weapons, and if those are not enough, our modular system makes them compatible with tons of weapons from previous sets, including the classic crossbows from the Demon Hunters, rather than the new vertical ones.

On top of the modular kit of melee warriors wielding hammers, mauls, greatswords, blades, incenses and maces, this set features a dedicated Arbalist unit instead of cavalry, providing poses designed to hold ranged weapons properly with both hands, for maximum variety and practicality on the tabletop.

I think the heroines are where this set really shines. I drew Pietà’s original concept, whose name means “mercy” in Italian, in Photoshop in just a few seconds. I needed to capture those few geometric lines that would translate so well into 3D, giving this heroine a distinctive and dramatic composition. I hope you like her! Making that composition work in 3D took many hours of sculpting spread across several days.

Severa is a veteran skilled in alchemy and sacramancy, shown invoking the power of Sol through a potent alchemical mixture and sacred incense. At first, I wanted to create a sort of orphanage cook, but the idea evolved as I worked, turning her cooking pot into an alchemical cauldron. If you were wondering who prepares the incense for the Requiem Order, now you have your answer :)

To contrast with the rest of the set, I wanted a furious and feral Epic Boss. Cerberus, Warden of Dosmagal’s Depths, is a guardian chained in the depths of Dosmagal, the fortress of the Requiem Order. Unlike other fiends sealed within Requiem sanctuaries, Cerberus guards a doorway to caverns leading to the demonic realms of Baalzrodan, who reigns beneath Mundus. Keeping this demon bound to the portal ensures that no imp can emerge from it, and that no one can enter the underworld through that passage. Cerberus is just one of the Requiem Order’s many dark secrets.

Finally, the Pinup was one of the most enjoyable pieces to sculpt. I did not want to do things by halves here. The composition I had in mind would not have allowed modular weapons with ball joints, so I went all out and turned the pinup into a small NSFW diorama, with different surfaces and materials to paint.

Although I consider the version shown in the center to be the definitive one, I also made a slightly more covered version and a topless version, as you can see on the right.

Patreon Tiers Are Closing (for New Subscribers)

This month, what I used to call the Guildhall Exclusive extra bit has been extended to all supporters.

I’m talking about the Gun & Sorcery weapon set: the Fulgur Castigum firearms, including pistols and guns designed to turn the Daughters of Sol into their more futuristic version.

Originally, Guildhall Exclusives bits were our response to the major changes Patreon made to its subscription system. Since those changes made our monthly release model increasingly difficult to manage, we created Guildhall and introduced exclusive bits to encourage as many supporters as possible to move there.

Now, one year later, we have finally been forced to close our Patreon Tier to new members.

Those of you who wanted to move to Guildhall have already done so, and we are immensely grateful for your support!

For everyone who decided to remain on Patreon, nothing changes. As long as you stay subscribed here, you will continue receiving the monthly releases as usual. The Tier is simply closed to new supporters, who will now be directed to Guildhall through our homepage to subscribe.

And from now on, content that would previously have been marked as Guildhall Exclusive, such as this month’s Gun & Sorcery weapons, warbanners and alternative versions will also be shared with our remaining Patreon supporters.

Thank you so much for your patience and for supporting us through all these changes!
